Reading scores of Minnesota students decline

Recent results from the administration of reading assessments based on the Common Core standards show a significant decline in proficiency in reading. Some argue that the lower scores compared to previous results are attributed to the use of a completely new assessment. It is alarming that the performance of African American students is well below 50%.
