New York Times Article on Proficiency of Black Students: “Jaw Dropping

The article discusses “jaw dropping” data that shows that education of Black students is bleak compared to peers in schools, and which suggests that the concern should be treated as an urgent concern. The data can not be explained by differences in poverty: poor white boys fair just as well as black males who are not in situations of poverty.
