African American Leadership Forum, A Crisis in Our Community: The Five Education Gaps

The attached article was produced by the African American Leadership Forum in the twin cities. The article emphasizes five types of gaps where African-American students are impacted in a negative way, including (1) preparation gap, (2) belief gap, (3) time gap, (4) teaching gap and (5) leadership gaps. Schools can begin to develop proactive services to support African-American students by focusing on these issues in the services they provide to their student population.
