School Psychologist Controversy

A school psychologist in Louisiana created a firestorm of controversy and negative reactions to his disparaging comments about black youth. In addition to concerns about his statements, his involvement with placement of black students in alternative settings call into question the legitimacy of his statements. The National Association of School Psychologist (NASP), has disavowed the statements and re-affirmed the ethical responsibility of school psychologist to provide service in an equitable manner.

The first link (copy and paste to address bar) is to a brief story about the school psychologist and his actions, and the second link is a press release (pdf format) by NASP re-affirming commitment to fair and equitable practice.
